Campaign of the Year
This category seeks to recognise programmes and initiatives that have been most successful in influencing their intended recipients. The category is open to marketing, social media and information campaigns alike. Judges will be looking for impact, imagination and, of course, demonstratable success in achieving results.

Digital Innovation of the Year
Our popular digital category seeks to recognise the enormous contribution of digital systems, data collection, software and monitoring to the industry. Entrants will need to describe the innovative aspects; explain how it is used; and show evidence of the difference its use has made.

Energy Champion of the Year
Our Energy Champion category is designed to reward an individual making a demonstrable impact on the energy industry, whether through innovation, influence, or just plain enthusiasm and dedication to efficiency and best practice. Nominations are sought from colleagues, suppliers or customers and testimonials are obviously beneficial. NB: Energy champions don’t have to be high-profile, or on a national stage: judges are looking for evidence of impact and a good ‘story’ from the candidate.

Energy Efficient Partnership of the Year
This category looks to reward collaborative efforts in energy reduction and is aimed at partnerships between end-users and their consultants, ESCO or CEM companies etc.
A team may be formed by manufacturers, contractors/consultants and the end-user with a view to reducing energy usage across a building or estate. The judges are looking for energy savings that could not have been achieved without the effective use of the partnerships and the diversity of skill and/or technologies deployed.

Energy Project of the Year – Public
This category looks for the year’s best energy-saving projects for the public sector – from healthcare to leisure - and covers both new build and refurbishment/retrofit. In a sector that naturally has to be judged in the context of budget restrictions, the judges are looking for demonstrable energy and carbon savings, backed up by data, with particular consideration for innovation, repeatability, public impact and other wider environmental impacts.

Energy Project of the Year – Residential
This category looks for the year’s best energy-saving projects in the area of residential property – either private residence or social housing. It covers both new build and refurbishment/retrofit. In a sector which is politically charged, the judges are looking for demonstrable energy and carbon savings, backed up by data, with particular consideration for innovation, practicality, repeatability, and other wider environmental impacts.

This category looks for the year’s best energy-saving projects in the competitive arena of commercial buildings, and in the no-less important area of retail and industrial projects. It covers both new build and refurbishment/retrofit. In a sector where the requirements of all kinds of occupants need to be considered alongside energy efficiency, the judges are looking for demonstrable energy and carbon savings, backed up by data, with particular consideration for innovation, repeatability, and other wider environmental impacts.

Energy Supplier of the Year
With energy supply attracting so much publicity in the popular press and the level of competitiveness in the market, the Energy Awards judges are keen to sort out the myths from the reality, to delve beneath the hype and the headlines and to recognise the supplier that provides the best all-round service to business customers.
Suppliers should therefore provide evidence of service, effectiveness, investment and innovation for their customers large and small, backed with data, testimonial and case study where appropriate.

Energy Team of the Year
The Energy Team of the Year prize is looking at collective achievements to support and encourage the effective management of energy use that can show a demonstrable impact on addressing industry priorities linked to emissions and cost reduction.
Similar to the focus of the Energy Champion category this is about showing dedication to good with examples of collaboration in both small and large teams within a single organisation or as part of cross-industry collaboration.
Judges are looking for examples of excellence in a broad number of areas that can include innovations and programmes looking at improving efficiency within the supply chain or for end users to help ambitions to move to more affordable and sustainable power.

Low Carbon Initiative Award
This category seeks to recognise the initiatives that have been developed in the past year to help the country on its journey towards its 2050 net zero legal target.
The category is intended to be broad – convince the judges that your initiative is having or will have a definite impact on reducing carbon.
Judges will be looking for impact, imagination and evidence of success or potential success.

Physical Technology of the Year – Heating and Cooling
Heating and cooling are a significant user of energy in any building. This category aims to recognise efforts to provide more energy efficient building services and systems. Energy reduction can mean either more efficient performance or controlling it more effectively. Credit will be given for solid data – independent where possible - to back up efficiency claims.

Physical Technology of the Year – Other
This category is designed to celebrate developments in both critical building technologies and other innovations that do not fit easily into the other categories. This is the place to enter lighting systems, innovative components and other initiatives. Credit will be given for solid data – independent where possible - to back up efficiency or performance claims.

Third Party Intermediary of the Year - Over 50 employees
Getting the best for your customers is the name of the game for this award. Whether it is getting the best price, advising how to buy energy effectively or managing a client's carbon plan, this category aims to show why a business should use an intermediary and what advantages this offers.
Open to companies with over 50 employees.

These awards are open for companies based in UK and Ireland only.
Third Party Intermediary of the Year - Under 50 employees
Getting the best for your customers is the name of the game for this award. Whether it is getting the best price, advising how to buy energy effectively or managing a client's carbon plan, this category aims to show why a business should use an intermediary and what advantages this offers. Open to companies with under 50 employees.

These awards are open for companies based in UK and Ireland only.
Waste into Energy Innovation
This is an award focused on honouring the different approaches to highlight the value of waste energy and effectively reusing sources of heat and cooling for a wider number of users. The category looks at the value of different ways of thinking about leftover heat and energy with the overall aim to reduce demand on the grid for power, as well as cutting the resulting emissions.
Judges are looking for examples of projects and strategies demonstrating how to extract more sustainable sources of energy from waste. This can include projects to redesign IT infrastructure, building or businesses to extract more value from energy that is otherwise escaping into the atmosphere.
