How do you think winning tonight can help your business in the future?

It’s really important to win awards like this, it helps us in the future because it allows us to promote the great work that we’ve done in terms of promoting the ability to produce decarbonisation of heat at scale and that’s what we are about and we deliver that decarbonisation strategy. Heat is quite a hard tech to deliver, and what we got is a strategy that actually delivers great outcomes for the end user, actually great outcomes for the UK in terms of reducing the cost of energy and reducing carbon emissions.

Why do you enter the Energy Awards?

We entered the energy awards because we wanted to showcase our fantastic project, a project that is decarbonising heating and more importantly taking people out of fuel poverty. And by taking people out of fuel poverty you no longer have to choose between heating and eating which is a fantastic achievement for Kenza and Thurrock Council.

Its just recognition for all the hard work we are doing making sure that our customers are happy with the service we provide. Not only just the customers that we have, but the passionate staff that we have back at Crown Gas & Power this award is for them as well.

It helps with our marketing, we can put it on LinkedIn, it really helps us develop our reputation, its great as we have clients here today so they see us winning and its really good from that point of view.

I think it can promote energy both internally within the organisation and being in the public sector I think it will actually mean a lot to the public sector as well in general. I think it will focus people’s attention on the importance of the nectar of carbon generally.

I think it allows us to breakdown the blockers for allowing efficiency for low carbon technology adoption and improving the energy industry as a whole.

Why do you enter the Energy Awards?

We want to make sure that people know about it and I think a lot of people who live in Leeds a lot of them don’t know about it which is pretty incredible really considering the size of the network so its good to spread the story of Leeds Pipes and the success of it. Other people can see what a good network it is. Other local authorities can learn from it and do the same projects for themselves.
